As of now, Canada is actively supporting immigration due to its lack of labor in multiple fields. Apart from workers of various industries, international students who have completed their careers from private career colleges are also eligible. These students can apply to travel, study, work, do business, or immigrate to Canada. With the need for Canadian citizenship, more and more refugees and immigration procedures are introduced.
A new immigration stream for these students has been finalized to provide help in the Canadian labor sector. This immigration stream will be valid from 1st April 2022 onwards. There is a Provincial Nominee Program starting, and eligible students will get Canadian citizenship &, along with the permanent residence certificate.
For the international students to be eligible, they need to complete their graduation in 19 different occupations. The students also need to be graduated from any one of the four eligible private career colleges in New Brunswick. If the students are qualified in both their college and stream, they will be suitable for getting the Canadian Visa and apply for immigration in Canada.
Opportunities NB took the initiative of creating this new immigration stream. This would help the international students to apply for permanent residence, citizenship, or sponsor your family member with a Canada visa. Additionally, this would also help in retaining more international students than before. Since skilled labor has shown an immense increase in competition, having international students become permanent residents of Canada can be helpful in the country. The minister of Opportunities NB, Arlene Dunn, has the same thoughts.
Another minister, Trevor Holder, stated positively on this note too. He clearly said that the work behind this new immigration stream has been going on for a long, and it is great to see it in action finally. He feels that the labor market of Canada needs the newcomer challenges. With this immigration, more and more graduates will be able to contribute to New Brunswick’s benefit.
It is to be noted that this immigration stream is only available to the international students who are ineligible for the work permit program with federal post-graduation. As a result, only the selected institutions at New Brunswick are eligible.
The New Brunswick Association of Private Colleges and Universities President Tony Reeder also has a say in this matter. He feels that these colleges are doing an excellent job preparing domestic students with the needed skills. With the addition of international students with the same skills, the program will be inspiring. The recommendations have all been provided to ensure that needs of the stakeholders are fulfilled.
