At different stages of the application process, different documents are necessary for Express Entry.
Documents for the express entry profile
Uploading documents for the profile is not necessary. However, some of those documents are important for entering information into the profile for submitting it. Some of those documents are stated below.
- A travel or passport document.
A Venezuelan passport holder needs to carry out additional steps for profile creation or filling out the application form.
- Language test result.
- Proof of funds.
- Proof of Canadian education.
For immigration purposes, an educational credential assessment (ECA) report is necessary if-
- The candidate is applying through the immigration program, the Federal Skilled Workers program.
- Or if the candidate wants to receive scores for their education outside Canada.
- Provincial nomination, if any.
To get nominated by the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the candidate must meet the minimum requirements of their territory or province’s non-express entry streams.
- A written offer of employment by an employer in Canada, if any, and proof of work experience. If any, a qualification certificate in trade occupation must be issued by a Candian territory or province.
Documents necessary for the application of permanent residency
Upon getting the highest rankings, selected candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence. However, the application must be submitted within 60 days from the date of invitation.
If invited, you will have to upload copies of documents, same as mentioned during profile creation. In addition, the candidates may have to upload the documents mentioned below.
- Police certificates.
The immigrating candidate mustn’t hold any criminal record. Individuals who pose a risk to Canada’s security are not allowed to enter Canada.
Suppose you fail to receive the certificate on time, show proof that you applied for a police certificate. In rare cases, we may accept proof alongside a letter of explanation. Such proofs may include- confirmation or payment receipt, delivery notice, or a tracking number.
- Medical exams.
- A representative form, necessary if you have a representative hired for you.
- A common-law union form, required if you have your marital status declared as ‘common-law.’
- Proof of funds. It is essential to meet the minimal requirements of –
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program.
- Birth certificate, if you are to be declared a dependent child.
- Adoption certificate, if the dependent child is registered as ‘adopted.’
- A marriage certificate, in case you have declared the marital status as ‘married.
- A legal separation certificate or divorce certificate and a death certificate, if you have the declared marital status as ‘widowed.’
Other relevant documents
You need to submit the following documents separately in the personalized document checklist. These documents do not decide whether we accept or reject your application. They check if you meet the minimum requirements for the program you apply for.
- Proof indicating your relationship to a Canadian relative.
- Digital photocopies, confirming your identity.
- Other names to confirm false identity, if any.
- An authority for releasing the personal information to the designated individual form.
- Any document that you feel is relevant for your application.
Keep the necessary documents in hand when filling up the application forms. Most documents require longer than you think. Start preparing the documents beforehand to avoid any hassle during the immigration process.
