Express Entry (EE) is an immigration application system. The online system manages applications of skilled immigrants. The individuals with the highest rankings are eligible to apply for permanent residency.
Steps to follow for Express Entry
Step I: Know if you are eligible to apply.You need to answer a few questions to know if you are eligible. Up first is whether you would want to stay in Canada permanently, working in a skilled job. Around 10 minutes to 15 minutes is required to fill up this questionnaire. Relevant questions asked in the form includes the following details-
- Age
- Nationality
- Language ability
- Education
- Work experience
- Job offer details, if any.
- Family members.
The answers must be accurate. Based on those answers, we inform you if you are eligible to apply for express entry or not. If you are eligible, we provide further details on instructions on what to do next. But first, you are required to fill out an online profile.
Upon filling up the profile and meeting the requirements, we place you in a pool of immigrant applicants. Based on your rankings, we invite you to apply for immigration.
You need to go through the details of each of the programs managed by express entry. Under express entry, three immigration programs are available-
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
For meeting the needs of the local labor market, provinces and territories may recruit express entry candidates through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Step II: Keep the necessary documents ready.
Documents necessary for applying for express entry include language test results. Besides, many other documents require a long period to get ready. Hence, starting to collect the documents beforehand is a good move.
Step III: Submit your profile for express entry.
The online express entry profile offers every detail about you. If you are found eligible, we add you to the pool of immigrating candidates.
Higher profile rankings indicate more chances of applying for express entry. You will be ranked through a point-based system called Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It will assess your education, skills, work experience, and language ability, among other factors. You will obtain scores relating to the information available on your profile.
Create the profile using required documents and National COccupational Classification (NOC) job code and title. Submit the express entry profile online within 60 days from registering. We will be figuring out the express entry program you may be eligible for.
Step IV: Receive the express entry invitation – apply for your permanent residency.
Candidates with the highest scores in the pool are invited to apply for permanent residency. If you receive an invitation, make sure to complete the application submission within the validity of 60 days. We process most complete applications with relevant documents within six months from the date of application.
When filling up the form, sign in to your registered account and click on the link relevant for applying for permanent residence. Keep the following in mind-
- All relevant documents have to be submitted.
- All mandatory fields are to be filled for applying.
- All the answers must be accurate and complete.
- You can permanently save up the answers and go back to them when you need to.
